One sleep 'til Santa

We had a visit from a special man last night.  I'll see if you can guess who...
Don't worry, you haven't missed Christmas Eve! Last night the local Round Table organisation held the last of its fundraising 'Santa sleigh' routes and it came right past our house.

They run fundraising activities throughout the year and, over the last couple of years, have raised over £30,000. All of the money raised goes to local good causes.

Both Sophia and Dexter were spellbound by the sleigh.  Sophia put some money into one of the collection tins and waved furiously at Father Christmas (little did she know it was her Grandad in disguise!), while Dexter gazed, wide-eyed and mouth open.
Then came the really magical part - Father Christmas called out to Sophia and Dexter by name!  The look on Sophia's face was priceless, but not as much as when Father Christmas announced he had a couple of special, early presents for them!
I love watching the look on little children's faces when they experience something magical. Both of my children experienced that last night.   I could have cried, it was so special.   I know my little girl went to bed dreaming of Father Christmas and wondering, "how on earth did he know my name?"

Have you taken your brood to see Santa this year?  Did they enjoy it?  Have you done anything to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas?  In the words of John Lennon, "So this is Christmas.  And what have you done?"

  1. Lovely picture of the sleigh and the kids happy faces. We missed our one going round the estate as it came after our kids were in bed this year (cue sad face off me lol!) x
