Just before bedtime, Sophia walked into the living room.
She surveyed the scene; toys strewn across the floor after a day of play. Putting hands on hips, she said, "Look at this mess." She paused. "It's all over!"
Sophia sighed and shook her head.
My husband and I looked at each other and tried hard to stifle our giggles.
"Who's going to tidy the mess up?" I asked.
"Mummy!" She exclaimed without a moment's hesitation. And with that she trundled happily off to bed.
I had to ask!

Well she's honest!
ReplyDeleteheh heh heh :D
never ever ask who will clean up the mess. Rookie mistake!
ReplyDeleteTrue! At least it wasn't as bad as the time we went to the zoo (about an hour's drive away) and I didn't take her favourite teddy bear with us. Sophia said she didn't want him to go but after about 15 mins in the car she remembered him and howled all the way there and back. I shall never be doing that again!
ReplyDeleteI was certainly well and truly told :-)
ReplyDeleteHa - she sounds like a smart one :)
ReplyDeleteToo smart for her own good sometimes ;-)
ReplyDeleteAh but who does she learn it from???? ;)
ReplyDeleteAsking - never a good move - ever...it can only bring trouble...
ReplyDeleteoh that is too flipping cute!!
ReplyDeleteThe hands on hips action is definitely from me. I suppose I only have myself to blame...
ReplyDeleteI've learnt that the hard way ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love how their personalities develop and flourish as they get older
