Two of my fellow ONEMums have been lucky enough to be asked on a trip of a lifetime to go to Ethiopia and see first-hand how ONE is helping third-world communities in need. They are Michelle from Mummy from the Heart and Jen who writes over at Jenography and is a co-founder of BritMums. They jet off tonight for two weeks and will be joined by a bunch of American mommy bloggers and an Ethiopian-born model and philanthropist to see the good work that is being done.
ONE doesn't ask for money, just your voice. I'm lending them mine, providing some UK-based ground support for Michelle and Jen and helping to raise awareness by sharing their posts, tweeting and RT-ing etc.
You could also help to highlight the work of ONE and tell people about Michelle and Jen's trip. They'll be blogging about their experiences and it would be great for as many people as possible to share and RT these to get them 'out there' to a wide audience.
You could also take part in a brilliant meme called 'It Only Takes ONEMum', which was invented by Clare who writes over at Seasider in the City. The gist of it is that you have to take the phrase 'ONEMums' and, for each letter, come up with a word or phrase that sums up what being a mother means to you. Here's my contribution:
O dear God, I'm pregnant!
No-one told me about the piles
Eww, I think my waters have broken
More milk? Mummy's boobs hurt!
U are adorable when you smile
Magical moments - sitting, crawling, walking
Shall we have another?
Will you show your support and give it a go? If you do, link up your post to Clare's ONEMums linky so we can all take a read. Thank you.
Love this! Thank you for joining in x
